Chievo vs Juventus
Juventus look to go top of the table when they take on Chievo this weekend. Since Juventus play ahead of Napoli for this match, they will be able to briefly go top of the table if they managed to beat Chievo. Juventus are in a great position to get a victory in this game, as Chievo have been struggling for form with no wins in the last five. Juventus have last two games already this season, but their recent form has been quite imperious. Massimiliano Allegri saw his team dropped points back in the second week of December in a goalless draw with Inter Milan.
SPAL vs Inter Milan
Inter Milan are looking to get back into the title race with a positive result. Inter Milan are searching for their first victory in the league since the 5-0 victory over Crotone at the start of December. Since then, Inter Milan’s form has diminished quite badly. The last three matches for the team has been a draw, while they have also begun 2018 with back-to-back 1-1 draws. SPAL are still fighting against relegation and the team has been able to keep the points coming in. The team are only two points away from safety, but they have not managed to victory in the last four.
Napoli vs Bologna
Napoli will be hoping that Juventus drop points before they take on Bologna, as there is a possibility that Napoli could be finding themselves in the second spot by the time they take on Bologna. This will be a psychological blow for Napoli, who have been the top team in the Italian Serie A over the course of the season. Yet, the loss against Juventus has changed the course with Massimiliano Allegri’s team now in forefront. Bologna are aiming for a second consecutive league victory, but it will be easier said than done. Most of their recent wins have been against relegation threatened the teams.
AC Milan vs Lazio
AC Milan are aiming for a third consecutive league victory, but they have possibly the toughest test of this weekend. Lazio are the visitors to the San Siro and the team comes into the game on the back of a good run of form. In this New Year, Lazio have been able to get three consecutive victories – including a 3-0 success over Udinese in the latest game. Yet, there lies great hope for AC Milan considering that Lazio have largely been facing relegation opponents like SPAL and Chievo. A victory for Milan would put them back into the top six places and also in contention for Europe.
