West Brom vs Chelsea: The Blues Keen to Build on Man United Win at Hawthorns

Chelsea take on West Brom at the hawthorns looking to build on the win over Manchester United. The victory over the Red Devils was clearly the best result for Chelsea this season, but it would count for little if the team were unable to build on this victory.
The blues have been highly inconsistent this season and this has contributed to Antonio Conte’s future been speculated quite heavily just a few months after leading the club to a league title. It is clear that the presence of Champions League is affecting the preparation ahead of each match. The big positive for the club will be the emergence of young players, as they have been able to overcome player shortage by promoting from within for the first time. Yet, it will all count for nothing if Chelsea do not build a consistent run of form.
West Brom have been criticised for not putting up a fight this season and manager Tony Pulis’ methods have been called into question. Pulis has admitted that he has been a victim of his own success, but he cannot argue with his team’s return of only 12 points from the games so far. To make matters worse, West Brom have a string of critical games against the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham, Swansea, and Crystal Palace.
The home team are expected to come in with a number of changes with the likes of Salomon Rondon, James MacLean, and Matt Phillips set to return to the starting line-up. This may force a change in formation from Pulis. Meanwhile, Antonio Conte is expected to rotate his team with the likes of Willian and Antonio Rudiger coming in. The injury worries for the club continued to be Victor Moses, while David Luiz has followed with the manager. Gary Cahill missed the international game in the midweek, but he looks certain to start and captain the team.
